A 28-year-old man was admitted to this hospital for a headache and vision loss in the right eye. The patient had been in his usual state of health until 2 weeks before the current admission, when a sore throat developed, along with facial swelling on the right side involving the right nasolabial fold, cheek, and lower eyelid; test results were reportedly consistent with streptococcal infection, and treatment with amoxicillin was started. Both the sore throat and the facial swelling resolved.
